The Significance of Community

At Parkview Edge, we observe Communion every time we meet. We believe that the early church experienced a sense of community as it broke bread together. So far we have stressed the servent aspects of community and the worship offering of communion. Do you think communion is a fair representation of the concept of belonging together? If communion is a snapshot of the community experience, what are some ways that we can extend the concept of community outside of the Edge experience? Are there dangers in the weekly frequency of observing the ritual on a regular basis? If so, what precautions can we take?

I feel that communion let's us belong together with Jesus Christ because that's what He did before he died with the ones He loved. Answering Your first question, I think it is definitely a fair representation of belonging together. Also I don't feel that there is a problem with observing the ritual weekly. I mostly feel this way because it doesn't matter how many times you observe the ritual but that you do observe it. Not to prove anything but to have that experience because you do Love God. You don't have to prove to someone you love God because God knows if you love Him or not and if you do then you will express yourself through Him not to prove anything but to show His love to everyone!!! You are doing a great job, keep up the good work!!

Ok so you probably knew this is what I meant but what I was saying on the last comment was that it doesn't mater how many times you take in communion as long as you do it, however I forgot to add that if you are going to then you need to do it for the right reasons and that is for Jesus Christ.
